Abstract

With the advent of Web 2.0, users have developed a growing interest in sharing their content, which has been further amplified by the emergence of various social networking sites. These platforms have provided an excellent opportunity for users to share their opinions with people all over the world. The opinions expressed by customers on the internet can have a significant impact on the service industry. As a result, various industries such as educational institutions, researchers, and business organizations are focusing on opinion mining, also known as sentiment analysis (SA), to extract the views and opinions posted by the public. The primary objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive overview of sentiment analysis using machine learning approaches. Furthermore, this paper sheds light on the significant challenges faced by SA, which present a vast scope for future research.
