Abstract

Existing research was focused on Heterogeneity of butterflies in Sarapdad region, Rajkot, Gujarat, India. The Bi weekly survey was conducted from June 2019 to February 2020. The survey was conducted using the Fix transect method. During the study, 38 species of butterflies were observed and from 5 different families. 9 species (23.68%) from the family Nymphalidae, 9 species (23.68%) from the family Lycaenidae, 15 (39%) from the Pieridae family, 4 (11.12%) from the Papilionidae family and single species (2.7%) from the Hesperiidae family was recorded. The most represented family was the Pieridae and the less frequently observed family was Hesperiidae. The highest butterflies were recorded during the Post-monsoon and the smallest number of butterflies observed during the winter.
