The present paper deals with the description of a new species of the genus Philometra Costa, 1845 is obtained from the body cavity and gonads of Channa punctatus (Bloch) of Visakhapatnam. The present new Species closely resembles P. pellucida but differs in body measurements, length of oesophagus, oesophagus not bulbous end, presence of ventriculus, oesophageal gland and shape of the tail.
