Abstract

For the cultivation of the grain of high quality with high yields in different regions, it is important to create and layout scientifically based varieties of cereals with consistent quality traits that can give a stable yield, adaptable to a certain region conditions through taking into account the soil and climatic conditions.

In order to study the aforementioned problems linked with conditions, a special program was developed for research work. Experiments under this program were conducted in the farm “Surkhon Khalkaobod sardori” in Termiz district of Surkhandarya and in “Kungirot Alpomish farm” in Mirishkor district of Kashkadarya region during 2012-2014. Through the experiments, 36 varieties and lines were studied in 3 replications. Krasnodar-99 variety grown in large areas in this region was selected as a local check variant. To study thoroughly the hot-dry wind resistance properties, planting of varieties and lines was carried out in November, during in the late sowing period. When they were planted in the late period, the varieties and lines are exposed to hot-dry winds during the period of germination, flowering and grain filling, which makes it easier to assess the level of resistance. During the study, weather data, phenological observations and laboratory analysis were also performed. The results and analyses were analyzed according to the program, and the correlation between productivity and other valuable economic traits were studied.

During the study, daily air temperature, wind speed and relative humidity were determined. Under the influence of hot wind (hot and dry wind) the changes in the developmental phases of varieties, plant height (cm), spike length (cm), number of grains in single spike (pieces), grain weight in single spike (g), 1000 grains weight (g), test weight (g / l), protein content (%) and gluten content (%) were studied comparatively in the conditions of Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions. While analyzing the results obtained, it was found that the hot-dry wind had a significant effect on the traits of bread wheat varieties and lines, which allowed the selection of resistant varieties.

Varieties of winter bread wheat KR11-105-50 (Kesh-2016), KR11-105-44 (Shukrona), KR11-105-43 (Shams) were found to be resistant to hot and dry wind conditions. It was recommended to widely introduce these varieties in hot and dry windy regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Varieties that are resistant to hot and dry conditions can be used as donors in hybridization work.
